What is Email Sequences?
Email Sequences is Automated series of emails sent to prospects over time based on triggers and timing rules.
Definition
Email sequences (also called drip campaigns or cadences) are automated series of emails that go out on a schedule. A typical sales sequence might be: Day 1 intro email, Day 3 follow-up, Day 7 value-add content, Day 14 breakup email. The sequence stops when the prospect replies, books a meeting, or unsubscribes.
Why It Matters
Manual follow-up doesn't scale. Reps can't remember to email every prospect at the right time. Sequences automate the repetitive work so reps can focus on conversations. Most sales engagement platforms are built around sequence functionality.
Example
An SDR enrolls a prospect in a 5-touch sequence. The first email is personalized. If no reply, an automated follow-up goes out 3 days later. The sequence continues until the prospect responds or reaches the final step.
